Ok...in the spirit of "an example is worth a thousand words", here are all the files associated with my Darkship model.  This includes the 3dMax file, the exported .bod files from the "v" and "cut" directories, and a sample TShips entry.

It is intended to be used with the tutorials/forums on the official X2 site, as an aid to learning how to export models from 3dMax into X2.

DISCLAIMER: This is not a "mod", and there are no cat/dat files.  I didn't spend any time on doing creative texture mapping, or trying to balance the ship's performance characteristics.  The poly count is a bit high, and it will take a few seconds to load the ship the first time.

Contents:

1.The /3Dmax directory contains the .MAX file.  You can see how I named the parts, and how I placed/linked the "cockpit" cube.

2. The /v directory contains the .bod files for the ship parts.

3. The /cut directory contains the .bod file for the scene.  NOTE:  I edited the file with a text editor to clean it up, and reorder the parts.

4. The /Text directory contains 2 files; a single line from the TShips file, and the description I added to my private text (id=17).

If people find this example useful, I can upload other ships.
